Its a small, coniferous, dense, deciduous tree of columnar, upright habit, with exfoliating, orange brown bark, and variegated, needle like leaves creamy white in spring, bright green in summer, and golden yellow to amber in autumn. Unusual of conifer, its foliage drops in autumn.

No show but stays on
