When turning up the power, the cooling systems efficiency begins to drop resulting in a lack of coolant flow, especially to the rear cylinders. This causes excessive pressure to build in the system which can lead to blowing freeze plugs out of the block or even pushing out the smaller diameter plugs under the valve cover.
