AdaptXResponsibility

Responsibility.

What we think we owe the people whose data, work, and decisions pass through the systems we build.

To the people in the data

Most of what we build touches information about people who never signed a contract with us: patients, customers, employees. We design as if they were in the room. Data stays where it's allowed to live, access is limited to who needs it, nothing trains a model its owner didn't agree to, and we decline work whose purpose is surveillance for its own sake.

To the people affected by a decision

When a system we build influences a decision about a person, such as a claim, an application, or a flag, that decision is explainable, reviewable by a human, and logged. We don't build systems that decide consequential things about people with no one accountable for the outcome.

To the people who use what we build

Software should be understandable by the people it's for. We ship documentation and training with every project, and we build so that clients can leave us. Dependence is not the business model.

To the people who work here

Our team is in Canada and we don't outsource their work. We celebrate differences, pay for learning, and give students real problems to solve. Our careers page says more.

Our expectations of the companies we buy from are published on the suppliers page.
